Lurkers

I recently added a post to the thread "Lurkers" but now when I try to access it I get a message saying I don't have permission, it's in a forum called junk and I can't even find that????

Thr thread was moved to `junk` due to the possibilty of it developing into an unfriendly , unpractical and unhelpful thread.

This is not aimed at any person ,(so please do not think it is), just nipping a prospective problem in the bud, that was becoming non model related.

Adz..

Wowbagger wrote in the 'Lurkers thread-
' Doesn't alter the fact that it's a total waste of space. I'm suprised you didn't remove it for the bigotry it contains'

Well I find this statement rather odd ? every effort has been expended here by many to make this a useful, friendly and above all informative group, instead of making such negative comments why not add something positive to its content instead of undermining the efforts of those here ?

Personally I have no problems with the lurkers, not everyone has the time or energy to contribute, but I see no point in destructive criticism.

I just wondered where the thread had gone to and now I know, thanks Adzam. That's why this thread is in "compuer help", I thought it was a technical problem. I didn't see any of the other 7 replies so can't comment on whether or not they were "unfriendly" but mine (the first reply) certainly wasn't intended that way.

no probs grey head, was only a possibilty of it heading that way.

no one is getting a finger pointed at them. no harm done.
There was no 1 post that caused thread item to be moved.
i have heard of many forums failing , turning bitter and nasty with slanging between members.
i have seen threads go out of control ( in a big name rc boat forum very recently!)
we have to remember we are in the public domain, with no age restrictions, the forum was set as a model forum by someone who is very keen on modelling, And has such attracted a very helpful and knowledgable membership.

some people post, some people `browse`. there is no law against either. pure freedom of choice.

if we lost this forum due to problems as such, then i for one, as i`m sure many others also , would be gutted.

I would like to think that this forum is moderated with common sense and a level head.with any problems being alleviated before the possibility of them spiralling out of control.

and besides, if this forum went down, i would have to move to warwick so i could continue learning from wonwinglo`s extensive experience .

cheers
Adz..
