What do you use it for? |

| | Guest | sorry if that was unclear. Modern laptops can use GRPS devices to connect to the internet at high speed when 3g is not available. Basically using your 3g mobile as a modem. If you turn off cardbus service this screws this up and doesnt always detech the hardware!
Vodafone have just launched mobile connect, a 3g data card for business users, this is a good example of 3g/grps technology working together. visit www.vodafone.com/business for more details. |

| Looks a good piece of kit, so laptop users shouldn't turn it off only if they plan on using this sort of card, but that goes without saying for all the services, be sure you know what you need and what you are doing before disabling |

| | Guest | Yeah they are wicked, i have one of the vodafone cards in this laptop, its great gettting the net anywhere! the only draw backs are that it auto switchs to GPRS if no 3G is available which can really slow down the whole process. If your in a big city with good 3g access however they are flawless.
Good point with services, i wasnt sure if i was going to add them to the tutorial, but with the list u posted and the explantion i think most people should be able to work out whats good and whats not!
John do you have a list like that for reg entries as i was going to make the next tut on /local users/runonce hacks and it would be rather useful to say the least! |

| I personally don't think it would be a good idea for most people to mess with the registry, I would just clean it with something like registry cleaner |

| | Guest | i was just going to do it the simple way: ie: enter into the run command the sequence for that specific reg entry, then press delete. its just that different pcs have a wealth of different startup proggys so maybe a program would be a better option. |

| | All Round Modeller | For those of you running Windows Xp, which I suspect most of us are now, RegScrub Xp is a good little program, very easy to use and it is totally free.
I believe it is on version 3.25 now, Just do a google on Regscrub Xp and you should get plenty of hits where to download it from. It is not a big download either.
It also has an excellent online resource tips / help section to really help get the most from your pc.
Regards......Mark.
