Yes, thanks, Richard I know.

The point I was making was that if systems are actually sold in a not completely proven state then the Beta versions are so much more so as to be completely beyond my capabilities to sort them out.

Richard,

I am not having any problems with my Soundcard....I am still running Win Xp, I merely downloaded the Vista Compatability advisor (separate program) which scans your pc to see if it can run Vista Ok and tells you what needs to be done to do so. I only need a couple of new drivers and they will come out from the manufacturers in due course. Pretty much the same situation I had when I first loaded Xp.

And for those of you wanting to try Vista, You'd best Hurry as Microsoft are shutting down the download sites, (If they haven't already done so). The reason for this is because so many people are downloading the Beta it is slowing down the net.....Microsoft reckon the full beta is a 3.5Gb download but you can still order it on DVD for free from them.

Regards..........Mark.

Do you have a 64bit processor? like a Athlon, Sempron 64 or a P4 if not then get the 32bit version

well i have a P4 but i downloaded the 64bit one and it said it wasnt compatable with win32.dll

so im downloading the 32bit one

...strange thing is the 64bit one was about 5 megs....and the 32 bit one is HUGE so maybe (im thinking) you have to download the 32bit one first....then the 64bit one which is kind of an upgrade to the previous file????)

the 32bit one is about 3.2GB'ish and the 64bit should be 4.something'ish, I'm not 100% sure on the sizes as I downloaded both but the 64bit kept timing out so I gave up on it and installed the 32bit version
