Email problem

I have a slight problem, after the computer has been turned on for more than 2 or 3 minutes I lose the ability to delete emails, I have to make it my first task when booting up to clear all the previous emails that I don't want to keep.
I'm using Win98SE with Outlook Express.
Any easy fixes,? (preferably one that doesn't involve losing all the emails that are sitting there)

Are you using IMAP or POP? if your using IMAP you may be loosing connection to the server.
