| Unable to download Microsoft.net Framework V1.1 I need to download Microsoft.net.Framework V1.1, in preparation for istalling some more specialised software for a SBS-1 Mode-S Transponder aircraft tracking system.
I have downloaded the zip file to my computer, however when I try and open it,the following legend appears ?
'The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing,or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program.
Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch'
There are all upgrades including SP.1 & 2 installed,so what could the problem be ?
Thnk you for any advice.

| Just tried that one John,it says this-
'High-priority updates
No high-priority updates for your computer are available. To check for optional updates, return to our home page and click Custom. '
Just a thought,I wonder if on the recent registry clean-up there has been something removed that is affecting the download ? I could always re-instate those from the quarantine. Quote: |

| Well John,I have re-instated everything and tried again from scratch, but still no joy, this is quite a blow as without this on my computer then I am unable to proceed with the other software required to run the transponder downloads.
Also checked and there is no trace of any previous Net Framework in place ? I am wondering if the zip.file could possibly be corrupted ? is that possible even from Microsoft ?
Also made sure that SP.1 & 2 are all there,a scan confirms that no critical updates are required on my computer.
Being version V1.1 it should download easily ? Quote: |

| Problem solved-SBS-1 Software. Well this is how I finally did it,and it now works perfectly in conjunction with the software download which automatically installs to your computer, for anyone having similar problems follow this sequence, dont ask me why it is in reverse ?! Microsoft have set up a rather confusing sequence, here goes-
1/ Install Microsoft.net Framework V3.
2/This will then prompt you to install a patch V2.
3/Now you can go ahead and install the required Net.Framework V1.1 which downloads as a file called dotnetfix, which when opened merges everything together.
4/Finally download the specialised HEX code software.
For those like myself without an SBS-1 box as yet,but wishing to test the linked software just place in say Hex Code 40040 and it should come up G-BNLA Boeing 747,and if it fires up then everything is functioning.
All that I need now is the SBS-1 box to connect to my computer, these are realtime radar systems that with a mag mount antennae can track aircraft from 75 miles away giving altitude, fix, squawk and callsign, with a roof antennae you can get 400 miles plus.
I will be doing a review of this system in due course here on Scale-Models.
All UK aircraft are required to have transponders equipped by the year 2007 by the CAA,this gives the system even more scope.
