A simple idea to save lost email addresses from crashes

You guys probably have beter ways but-
I just found a great way (I think) to save losing all your contacts when you crash your PC or a virus gets through your program etc and deletes everything.
You simply open your outlook address book (asuming you have PC) and copy the entire list by highlightling and right click-copy it, then open a word doc and paste it in. I printed it off and they're all in alphabetical order over several pages. You could aslo save the doc to a backup disc etc if you like.
No biggie, but an idea anyway.

I actually do that by selecting specific addresses and make up my christmas card list.

Great idea Magpie and thanks for sharing it.

Howdy Guys,

Great Idea Magpie, However, since building plastic model aircraft is not my only hobby (I also build card model aircraft), I have lost my files before during a computer crash. Luckily for me, I decided a long time ago that any downloaded card models, either free from the net or purchased, were worth "insuring".
So, whenever I download a card model from the net, I send it to myself in an email to my yahoo account.
Being that the yahoo account emails are not stored on my computer, but are stored on "Yahoos server", even if my computer crashes, the emails containing my card models and any other important items I wish to save, are always there.
Not only that, but I can access them from any computer in the world.
Msn offers "Hotmail" and I also have that, but my Yahoo account holds 2 Gb of info and I have over 300 cardmodels stored there now.....safe and sound.
This method would work with any information you wish to save, contact lists, model instructions, copies of decals etc....
Anyway, just thought I would add this idea to Magpies Idea.

Have a good day andf I hope this helps someone,

Greg

i do this with txt files, i had 100's of them all indexed! If you have a PDA or recent mobile phone you can also transfer them to that with a USB cable! I can explain how if anybody needs to know how!
