      Any Phantom fans out there?

I have recently gotten hold of a set of decals for 74 sq (tiger squadron) for their aircraft from the SE 5a to the Phantoms.
I need a bit of help please.
The teo types that they flew where FGR2 and F4J. recent searches on the internet have led me to belive that these are the two Phantoms that are rather hard to find. So FGR1 I can find those by the hanger load. Can any one tell me the physical differances between an FGR1 and FGR2.
Also The marks either side of the F4J. Are we talking serious visual changes or is it down to systems and internals that gives rise to the different mark numbers.
Should any one know of a 1/48 scale FGR2 or an F4J for sale at a fair price..... :-)

      Hi
I believe the F-4J was an all american build aircraft and as such had J79 Turbojets instead of the Rolls Royce Speys resulting in a different airframe, air intakes and jet nossles. They were a batch of aircraft bought direct from the US to defend the Falklands originally from 1982 until F-3 Tornadoes became available.( you could theretically use an F-4J Phantom kit covering a Japanese ASDF plane and modify the odd aerial and stores etc then apply the decals you already have).
      Regards Jon

Thanks for the rather belated reply, as I posted this question almost two years ago (!) I have since solved the problem...

      It's the thought that counts

      That is so true.
Right now I'm thinking when the heck did they move Beds. to the Falklands.... Or are you just "flying the flag" in honour?
