Tickled Pink !

You no doubt have all heard of this well known saying but rarely applied it to aeroplanes, well our next years local club project revolves around machines that have been painted a pink colour, after a quick bit of research there are certainly more subjects than at first imagined, this is what I have so far come up with-

'Pink Lady' B-17.
Shorts Skyvan painted pink and used for sky diving by Silvia Wagner.
Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour owned a Folland Gnat.
'Pink Lady' B-24 serial 41-11764.
F-86 Sabre was painted pink after his groundcrew found out that his wife had given birth to a baby girl.
XB-GEN Cessna 170 flown by Capitan Francisco Lopel.
G-ASMF BAC.111 operated by Court-Line.
High altitude Mosquito.
High altitude Spitfire.
High altitude Whirlwind fighter.
A Toronto radio station operate a pink helicopter.
Noel Edmunds had a pink painted Jet Ranger with 'Mr Blobby' markings.
P-40 flown by a woman pilot called Parish...

If you know of any more with the pink connection then I would like to know more about them, vehicles also come under the category as well.

I dont suppose "Operation Petticoat" qualifies being fiction (film). During WW11 the crew of a U.S. Navy submarine in the Pacific can only scrounge red and white anti-corrosion paint to prevent more damage to their badly rusting craft. Mixed together gave the resulting pink which proved to be appropriate when they rescued a number of female nurses from a remote island. Harmless comedy starring Cary Grant. What is the origin of the expression "tickled pink", anybody know ? Hunting (pink jackets), fishing (tickling for trout, guddling in Scotland) ? Making a person blush ? What?

*** Certainly does qualify Duncan, what a subject, all that I need is a kit for a U.S.Navy sub, does any manufacturer produce one ? I could always repaint her after the show.

And for the cartoon Lovers out there, you also have Penelope Pitstops car from the Wacky Races Cartoons as well as the Pink Panther's Car (The real one of which has just gone up for auction) as per this link, http://www.blavish.com/own-the-origi...k-panther-car/
It was also on the BBC News website last week.... and then of course there is Lady Penelope's Rolls Royce from Thunderbirds.

Regards.........Mark

Barry, it is a Gato class. There is a Revell 1:72 kit.
