Squif, It is a fairly well known chap that dabbles in pulse-jet engines. The NZ feds tried to ban his experiments but I think it is an on-going tale. The entertaining Mr.Bruce(of course) Simpson..read this while standing well back from the screen http://www.aardvark.co.nz/pjet The cruise missile is on another site for reasons that will become obvious www.interestingprojects.com/cruisemissile/ Which brings us right back to the political interference we were discussing in previous posts !

LOL@THAT DUNCAN!

My office just ground to a halt reading and dicussing that site! We cant work out if hes totally crazy or a god, lol!

Seems like theres a lot of political "heat" on the matter, but how much of this hes stirred himself im not sure. As it wont be armed i would personally class it as an unusal RC aircraft of sorts?

Richard- excuse my blatent ignorance but what does "hosting tables" mean?

Squiff, "hosting tables" ? Dunno, where is it ? The concept of a civvy missile isnt new. There was the famous attempt to deliver mail to one of the Western Isles by rocket. There was a major film about. Bit of a failure with the then available. hardware but I`m sure the guys at the Benbecula Rocket Range could do it today with no bother at all. I`m sure the target drones they used could be altered to carry a small payload to be dropped in a safe area .

Sorry, my fault.

In traditional cruise companies such as Cunard Line Senior Officers 'Host' tables, i.e. sit with a table of passengers for dinner in the evening. This gives the passengers the opportunity to learn a lot more about the company and life at sea in general from the officer sitting with them.

I met some very interesting people over the years doing this and used to look forward to having a chat with "My" table each evening. In those days the passengers were with us for either one or two weeks so you got to know them quite well over that amount of time.

The trick was ensuring that the conversation included everyone and was guided away from potentially contentious subjects.
