Howdy Guys,

Its been awhile since I was here last, but I have returned. This time with photos of some of my recent builds in my gallery.
I have posted pics of a Boeing B 47 strato jet, an F3F 2 Flying barrel, a bell "Convertiplane" (part airplane part helicopter), two versions of the famous F 86, a U.S.C.G. C 130H, and Geo. H.W. Bush's TBF AVENGER "Barbara III" and last but not least my own conversion of a revell HAS.6 SEAKING into the U.S. Presidents Helicopter, "Marine One".

Greg, All the models look superb but are they working models or static?

You have certaily chosen some very interesting and unusual subjects there so I am assuming that they are built from plans.

Please tell us a bit more about the construction techniques used and take some closer pictures.

Greg,I have the XV-1 Convertiplane myself,mine was built from the Glencoe re-issued kit.
You have some nicely finished models there,thanks for showing them.

i was going to ask a similar question....did you build them from plans/scratch or kits?

Howdy Barry, Bunker,

First, they were kits, and the convertiplane was also from glencoe, I saw it and just had to have it, its an unusual aircraft and a real conversation piece.
The C 130 and the Seaking (Marine One) were also kits, but the C 130 was just a plain transport model and the Seaking was supposed to have british "tiger stripes", but I wanted to make the C 130 a coast guard aircraft and the seaking the presidential helicopter so I painted them as such.
Real Quick, before I forget, Barry, are you the same Barry (wonwinglo) from the cardmodels website?
Anyway, thanks for the kind words, I will be posting some more today, I can usually get atleast one model out per day maybe two.

Howdy RJ,

Yep, thats the same model I bought. Amazing how the same model can look so different huh?
I looked thru your gallery, you do very nice work , the spitfire looks great!
I also take multiple view shots of my models but didnt know how much space I was allotted here.

mine was a revell kit i managed to pick up from the charity shop for £3!

you have not space limmit, upload as many pics as you can/want...which ever is greater!

Greg,I agree about the XV-1,it is a unique subject and we have Glencoe to thank for saving the moulds from the scrap heap,have you thought about building the Airfix Fairey Rotadyne ? another British convertiplane from the fifties,for its age it is a good model,recently I saw a fine example built up and painted in B.E.A ( British European Airways ) colours,as you know they only built a single example,the thing was so terribly noisy with those tip ramjets !
There are no space limitations for album photographs,the fact that you are posting is important.
And yes That is me,I build from any materials that are possible to get my hands on,quite a stash of card model subjects to build when time permits.

I really enjoy seeing what people can do with converting a standard kit. The examples here are all superb and show just what can be done with an open mind and a willingness to be adventurous with a paint job.
