1/48 seafire

Can anyone help me? I am trying to find all the bits necessary to convert a tamiya 1/48 spitfire into a seafire. Apparently it’s quite a challenge but it’s worth it.

If anyone can let me know which P/E and resin parts are needed and where I can get them from it would be post appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

Airwaves does a nice looking conversion set for the Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire

Airwaves set No. 48065

I don't have experience using it but it seems to have lots of nice looking Photo Etch. Theres a review here too. And I thought the Seafire was just a spitfire with an arrestor hook...heheh!

Conversion kits are available from Hannants:

Expensive but looks great when done!

thanks alan. il take a look at that later

untill the (properly named) Sea Spitfire Mk.III it was just a spitfire with an arrestor hook. anyone correct me if im wrong there.

edit...

if i had read that link you sent me before i posted i would not have had to say anything other than thanks lol.well at least i was right! lol

aeromaster also do this kit:

http://kits.kitreview.com/seafire4647reviewbg_1.htm

but it just extra detail to go onto the Airfix 1/48 seafire kit which im not too sure about.

I made the Airfix 1:48 Spit many aeons ago. it's a nice build and goes together well but I'd always choose Tamiya over Airfix if the Tamiya model is readily available. Quality of Tmiya means for much less worry when putting together and very minimal flash (if any) on mouldings.
