Aircraft Colours

Hi All
I know this question should be in SciFi section but I thought it might generate a few more answers:
New project doing a what if after buying a couple of Revell Star Wars Mini kits the snap together ones (brill molding and detail by the way)
so the diorama I am trying to do is a scene from "In Which We Serve"
http://http://www.britmovie.co.uk/directors/d_lean/filmography/005.html

Where the Captian and his familey have a picnic and above them the Battle of Britan is fought but using the Tie Bomber and Jedi Star fighter now the question; What colours? Historic or Modern and if modern ie 50s till now what would Luftewaffe be using my thoughts if I Nato they would be basically the same
Thoughts on where to get a couple of pilots in UK or better still in West Midlands nothing special just generic one would be ok

Just a little more as the kits are 1/72 ish I was going to have the picnic scene with 'N' gauge figures if I can find some
Thanks all

So you're going to paint the Star Wars fighters up to represent historic liveries... I'd go for the Tie Bomber in typical WWII mottled Luftwaffe camouflage and the Jedi Fighter in RAF Green / Brown.

I think they'd be more recogniseable than using a modern nato scheme, would look a bit like German Secret weapons 1946...

I'd agree with Alan! Assuming it is a "What if the war continued" type of scenario!
Plenty of scope for camo styles. I would go for the speckled camo from the ME262 with dark top and lighter lower sides for the German or Imperial forces.
I don't think British camo has changed that much for aircraft, so the choice is up to you, just use the roundels and it is instantly recognisable.

Sounds like a cracking idea Gromit lad! Should look good when done.

I can just see the side of one of those Tie Bombers painted up like this!

Hi Tony!

How about using figures for tanks? The overalls look like flight suits.
Don't know if they can be bought in 1/72 though.
If you have no luck I have some German and British Soldiers you can have a mooch through!

Awesome imagination! Next we'll have A-Wings in polished aluminum with sharks mouths and invasion stripes! Maybe even a flat black anti-glare.

By the way.. gonna put any drop tanks on them?
