Revell C17

Anyone who would like (unclassified!) information on the RAF C17, I would be more than happy to provide you with details and possibly pictures to help with what is my most awaited kit of the year!

Im a fairy on 99 Sqn, so would like to do my bit for fellow modellers! if you do want info please ask questions here, as others can read and use it later.

Hello Rich, that is a very kind offer, what about sending a mini walk round of the C-17 for starters ? I always find these walk round pictures that show important features for modelling very useful, especially things like how the undercarriage doors hang etc.
The Revell kit is eagerly awaited by many of this aircrafts followers, lets hope it is a good kit and worth the wait !
Barry.

Will be a few days before a walkround can be assembled, so heres a couple just to whet your whistle. The first one is UK5 on arrival, and the second is UK6 just 24 hours after delivery! It is pictured in Eastern Europe, a very long day for me that day....

Howdy guys,

For those of you who cant wait on the revell C-17 Globemaster, allow me to suggest an alternitive (albeit abit more "pricey"). Anigrand models offers both the UK and US C-17 resin models in 1:144th scale (same scale as revells model) and each version comes with three (3) "bonus aircraft models" all in 1:144th scale.
You can find all of their offerings here: Anigrand Craftswrok resin model kit catcalog
And below are excerpts from the C-17 models:

#AA-4004 1/144 scale Boeing C-17 GlobeMaster III Royal Air Force markings

Model Kit Contents (click the image for larger photo)

Model Features

128 resin parts

Span 361 mm
x
Length 368 mm

The RAF C-17 package contents secret kits of three 1/144 British early jets as bonus:

#AA-4005 1/144 scale Boeing C-17 GlobeMaster III Charleston AFB markings

Model Kit Contents (click the image for larger photo)

Model Features

154 resin parts

Span 361 mm
x
Length 368 mm

The USAF C-17 package contents secret kits of three 1/144 U.S. transport airplanes as bonus:

Now I dont want this to sound like an advertisement for anigrand, but i did wish to point to a manufacturer who has been around for awhile. You can see a review of the RAF C-17 by anigrand here: Anigrand 1/144 C-17 Export Version (RAF), by Greg Ewald
and below is a photo or two of the completed model with one of the "bonus models".

Have a good day and happy modeling

Thats a great link Rocker808 - thanks

The Revell kit looks good and more accurate than the AnigRand one (and of course slightly cheaper...)

Anyone know if the revell offering has decals for the RAF C-17?

I'm looking forward to building it once I've reduced the number of outstanding unmade kits that are sitting in my attic...
