Hachette bmw

Looks like they are at it again.Noticed the tv adverts the last couple of days with the 50p first issue.
So i had a look at it this morning in the newsagents and its going to be £5.99 per week and 96 issues so that a total(inc 50p 1st issue) of £569.55p.
Its made by thunder tiger and i think its the TS.4N sport and doing a quick search on the net and it seems its out of stock at most suppliers.
After the nitro racer fiasco i wont be doing another rc model by the week again.

It wouldnt be so bad if they did them over say 50 issues but 96 is a joke.
also ive found a few ts.4n for sale with different bodies for £200 including the radio gear which makes the price hachette want a joke.

The first one is 50p and the second is £3.99 then the rest are £5.99 so that a total of £561.56 and there are 95 issues to collect which is roughly 2yrs to collect it,i'm collecting the monster truck as it's the only way i can have one with the way my money is,and where on to the engine now. This is the link to the site http://www.rc-bmw-m3gtr.co.uk/i think the reason behind the total price is they might be giving upgraded parts in some of the issues but i can't be sure on that though.

fair enough if they are giving upgraded parts but for that money i would want a lot of them.
if you buy the radio off them for £45 after you have collected the 20 tokens that takes the total over 600 quid.
And for that you can buy 3 complete cars including radios.
May be worth buying a couple to strip for parts then ebay them.
A few doing this with the pureten nitro racer and making decent money.

One bloke is doing it with the TT monster truck on ebay aswell buying the kits and dismantling them then selling the parts off. Also your not just paying for the parts your also paying for the mag as they need to get the money for printing them back. But for some it's away into R/C nitro cars without paying a large sum of money in one go and they will learn more this way than buying a kit or an RTR car.

totally agree about a easy way into rc.
And the finished product is definately better than a RTR car.

Bmw M3 Gtr

It does seem like ridiculous money alright - I bought issues 1 and 2 and seriously thinking of continuing to collect. The thing is that I will get much more satisfaction out of building it myself over time - it's something to look forward to - does anyone know if the same model can be bought in parts at buyers pace and assembled over time?

I think being fair you are also getting a magazine out of it, non of which come cheap nowadays so you should offset the cost of 95 of them as well.

I would still prefer to get one from another source rather than these mags though, They are definitely much cheaper elsewhere.

Mark.
