| Today got the rest of my stuff into the other room so i thought i would try my RMS system properly so i connected some track up and this is my testing track.
And it works better than i thought it would as i read about it and some said it doesn't register all the laps well it does in race mode but i think it misses a lap in qualifying so you can go faster for your next one or something like that. |

| Well my sport world set arrived today see photo's.
I have installed the software to my PC and connected the sport world unit to the PC to install drivers and to update the software and i could only setup a small oval on my bed,as the cable supplied isn't long enough to reach the floor so i am going to buy an extension cable or a cable the same as the one that comes with it but longer.
And once i have the cable i can then try it fully. |

| OK so now we are connecting computers up to Scalextric sets!!!
You will have to get right back to simple terms for us guys who have been outside the circle for a few years and explain just what this gear does.
It certainly sounds interesting and a lot more involved than watching cars go round in circles!!

| I know a guy who was working on a database for a local Scalextric Club, apparently the hardware they have on their club track logs participants laptimes onto a PC.
It keeps records of Race Lap Records etc. The odd thing the software he was using only ran under MS Dos, apparently there was something in Windows regarding the PC's inbuilt clock processor, or timer that caused a level of innacuracy, the club couldn't cope with that apparently!
I'm not sure to how many decimal places they were timing the cars too but it sounded a little over the top!
