Modern military vehicles

Hi everyone!

I'm in the process of making a 1/48 C-130j. I have plans to make a diarama out of it with some ground crew and vehicles etc.

Does anybody know anywhere I can buy 1/48 models of Hummers, tanks (not really bothered which as long as there modern), refuelling trucks and other vehicles like that?

I've spent the last 3 days scouring the net but eveything seems to be 1/72 or 1/35 and for WW2.

The best places I've found so far are:

www.hannants.co.uk

www.parabellum.co.uk

Parabellum seems to stock the most but I really need pictures to know what I'm getting. My knowledge of this kind or thing is rather small.

Cheers

Hi Mate and Welcome to the friendliest place on the net !!
As for your query Esci did a 1/48 Nato support set and i know Tamiya do 1/48 armoured vehicles ! Im sure Squiffy could help you with these! If not one of our other forum members will certainly be able to (Wht not try Geebubya he could prob supply card models to that scale)

That's brilliant, cheers!

I would have thought I'd be able to find at least a 1/48 Challenger tank but I can't.

What is wrong with the world?

Howdy Robbb,

Academy also makes a 1:48th scale Leopard II MBT (kit 1304) as well as a LeClerc French MBT in 1:48th(kit 13001). Below are some box art from them respectively:

Academy also makes M1A Abrahams MBT (kit 13002):

Also an M60A1 MBT (kit 13009) :

A Merkva MBT (kit 1301) :

and a T 72 MBT (kit 13006) :

Now some of the above models are "motorized" models, but I am sure that they can be built w/o the motors if desired. Sorry I havent found any Hummers yet, or other vehicles, but like I told you in the private message, I am heading to the hobby shop today and will look over their stock for 1:48th scale armor and trucks etc.

hope these help, you can get order them fromn hobby stores or online at the "Academy" werbsite I am sure.

Have a good day,

Greg
