well for brake dust on the rims its jsut black dust so maybe dry brush it on in places

i dunno how you would make the windscreen dirty with the shape of wiper blades though

personaly i think it would look better looking pristine each to their own though

btw what did he drive? i know he posted it before but i forgot :P

Hi char!
to make the wipers look dirty, you mask the area the the wipers would cover, and brush brown and a little blak onto the windscreen. But maybe you should try it out on a scrap of plastic to see how it looks. You should also heat stain the exhaust using clar blue and red and yellow.
Hope this helps

Char what a good idea making a model of his car, what type of vehicle was it ? I know he spoke a lot about it,is that the one he had an exhaust for Christmas ?

Char, I would be very cautious about weathering a car model as it could so easily look overdone and become a bit of a mess.

Apart from adding a bit of realism in the engine compartment with some washes and dry brushing I would tend to make the rest of the model as a showroom example. Trying to make the screen look used could well end up with it looking very dirty and unrealistic.

As it was your Dads pride and joy maybe you should make it as pristine as he always wanted it to be?

Yes to answer questions My dads car was a Nissan 200sx s14a turbo. He had done a lot of work to get the BHP up which he did accomplish. He loved driving his car. Making it pristine is probably the best idea i think after reading all your comments. Thank you all for giving me advise on this it is much appreciated considering i have no help anymore.

I have to teach ellie to make models now considering she wants to do them.

My dad did repair his damage he completely sanded the car and repainted it which cost him £25 for the paint because of its colour is very unigue.
