looking for Daimler information

I have come across a daimler model. The car itself is a manual start and by the look off it is very old (maybe from the 1930s).

can anyone give me any information on it and, where i could get part's and/or manuals for it as i have already tried some daimler clubs with no luck.
I did however find a few bronze plates one of which was bolted to the chasis saying:
Type E.20
No 42664
TheDaimler Co. LTD

this is the picture of it hope this helps.
thanks guys

Charlotte, can you find a label, possibly in the engine bay somewhere which may have the model number on it. Failing that a chassis number or an engine number might help and I am sure that Daimler could track it down from such information.

Have you tried such sources as an Owners Club or Daimler themselves yet?

it looks a little bit like a wolsely

and i think the crank handle start would be a back up as my grandads wolsely had one aswell as a starter

have a look on here http://www.dloc.org.uk/forum/forums.aspx

out of interest what parts are needed for the car?

It does seem to look remarkably like one of these doesn't it?

http://www.daimler.co.uk/daimlermodels/html/1937.htm

Have a look around this site and sign up to the forum Char I'm sure there is a lot of help available here and even links to spares suppliers.

If you have a look at the "Prices" tab you might have a car that is worth a bob or two there as well.

These guys may be worth contacting as well as they have restored one of these cars in the past:

Here is a very similar Lanchester as well, does yours have a six cylinder or an eight cylinder engine?

Hey Char,

Any more luck trying to identify that old car you've aquired?

What's the story with the car too and how did it come into your possesion? I hope you have some good contacts with people in the car trade who can lend a hand restoring it to it's former glory!

Alan
