Cheapest 2 channel R/C gear for setting up R/C Car Racing club

I'm sure this has been asked before on here! But whats the best deal for cheapo chinese R/C gear, Transmitter, Receiver and 2 x servos. I've been thinking of setting up a project at school using the cnc machine to produce parts for a very basic ministock car, that the kids would be able to build and also see the cnc machine in work making their car too. A little vac formed body and some vinyl cut decals and good to go - am trying to get the costs down as low as possible!

Been kicking the idea about for some time but just had a look at the little mardave chassis again, think it could be fun and cheap project thats a little more fun than making a pencil box or a cake decorating turntable!

Really it's just an elabourate excuse for me to buy kids toys and play with them at work!

keep your eye on eBay. There are loads of cheap two channel sets going for next to nothing. Just make sure you get the correct frequency range for what you want to control, i.e. 27 or 40 Mhz for boats 35 for planes etc.

As you say go for a complete set with servo's and crystals and you won't get bogged down with compatabilty issues then.

there are some 2.4ghz choppers avalable on ebay I know someone who got one that was damaged and paid a £10 for it , this type E-flite - Advancing Electric Flight - Blade CX2 RTF Electric Coaxial Micro Helicopter and took the radio gear out for a boat . may be an idea to contact one of the big suppliers of them and ask if they will sell or donate to the school.
