| | Guest | Perkasa MTB - help needed Hi,
I have recently aqquired a part built 42" perkasa. It is in a real mess, having been butchered by the previous owner. Does anyone have any plans/photos of this boat, or can ayone point me in the right direction?
Also, if someone can explain how to post pictures, I would like to put a couple on here.
many thanks

| if you have a loot at EBAY there`s always perkasa`s for sale, some good some bad, a very popular model, if you look HERE these are some pics of my own perkasa at full tilt. styled more as brave borderer, but perkasa`s and the brave class are very similiar but with difference`s in super structure.
there are a couple of books which really would be your first port of call if you`re looking at doing a serious scale model. but a lot of people do build them with some artistic licence. i did have a link for some shots of the borderer but at the moment i`m not on my own pc . i have some pics of some excellent perk`s which i will also post when i get back to my own pc.
But in the mean time , try a google search for perkasa. there should be lots of hits.

| I attach some pikkies of Braves & the Swedish version which I believe was akin to the Perkasa. Can't remember where I got these from, but as Adzam says ... Google is a good place to start!
Best of luck .. at 42" you may have a job getting something to drive it fast enough!
If you want a petrol strimmer engine + clutch etc. .. |

| Hi Rowland,
I got a single sheet plan for a scratch built Brave Borderer by Ken Hards from VTH.de - price 16 euro plus postage.
You will get their web site on VTH.de but don't expect to see english!!
It does not have any hull lines etc. but if you have the hull, this could give you topworks detail.
The plan number is MM609 and the VTH catalogue number is 3214421.
As Adzam says, Prekasa and the Braves differed in the superstructure, but a range of Perkasas' were built for foreign navies, ann to unique specs.
Hope this helps. |

| | Guest | Thanks for all the piccys and links, I have also manged to find vosper's homepage, so have written a begging e-mail to them for detailed pics/plans.
Have attempted to attatch some pics of how it is now, I have started to clean it up and remove badly built components, but theres a lot more to do.
(The deck was held on with... Carpet Tacks!!) | |

| | Guest | Steve,
Nice work mate, I have an address that may be of interest for you,
Precision Controls,
7 Glenburnie Road,
Bideford,
Devon
EX39 2LW
Tel: 01237 476820
They do a range of detailed parts for the perkasa, including the main guns, catalogue is £4.00. The chap that runs it recons a full set of parts is approx £290.
Also, I am making some moulds for some items myself (Hatches and Exhaust Outlets) they will have rivet details and will need finishing off with brass or platicard details (Like Hinges). If you would like to borrow them to cast some yourself drop me an e-mail.
Regards
