Question A question for boat builders…..

Scrolling down some of these threads and posts I came across some of the pictures in the Sailing Ships forum (Miniature sailing ships –by Windjammer). The models that Windjammer has made are outstanding!!!!

My question is – how are the realistic waves achieved with the foam breaking from the bow of the ship – it gives an impression of movement and brings the model alive, fantastic!!!!

I expect that if it was done wrong it would look awful, so how is it done, and what is used, and is it an acrylic base?

Many thanks
