Well first of all I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday break and hope that Santa brought the new kit. Haven't done a lot more during the holidays to the Seawolf but I only have the conning tower and the front dive planes mechanical system to install - then it's paint and away. Overall I reckon the hardest bit of the kit for me was finally attaching the front nose cone and aligning everything - it took me ages to get the top part of the nose cone to sit properly, then when I thought everything was OK, I found that the conning tower wouldn't sit flat on the hull because the nose cone was pointing down slightly - I managed to sort this out by taking out the bottom screw holding the lower part to the WTC and elongating the hole slightly to allow me to move it upwards a smidge - luckily I had only screwed the top half of the cone to the bottom half but not to the WTC. sooo.... hopefully all is OK now. Just got to make sure that the front dive planes line up with the rear...... I see in the January Model Boats magazine someone is now selling ready constructed subs complete with pressurised diving system - just needs the RC gear. I might put one of them on my next birthday list - I fancy having a static diver without having to build it - but we'll see about that later.
