Filler for Fibreglass hulls?

Hi guys, what filler to you all use for filling in seams, join lines and other such imperfections in fibreglass hulls? I've been using Ipson P38 but it seems wasteful if you want to do small amounts at a time and I always seem to run out of harnder. Has anyone used this green putty stuff that the wargamers use?

Try Milliput.Its a two part epoxy putty that you mix togther. It will set underwater and can be sanded drilled everything .It comes in different grades and colours .Eg white and grey and terracota. Any good model or hardware store should sell it

Yes Ive used Milliput before - a hundred uses in our hobby! Somehow I always seam to get far to much on when trying to fill seam lines and spend most of my time sanding off the excess. If I try and use very small quantities it seems to prefer to stick to my finger rater than the hull itself

, and I ending up not pressing it down firm enough and when I come to sanding, it just chips off.

I hate milliput its bloody awfull to work with in small quantitys Halfords car body filler is brill and you can buy additional tubes of hardener if you want a really strong joint try chemical metal

I always use P38 for model boats. You can get it in tubes and mix up very small quantities. It only needs a very small amount of hardener so try to use less in future.

Well I thought I'd give Squadron green putty a go and I have to say I'm hoooked! Worked a treat on a seam line joining two hull halves, filling in all the tiny pin holes. It comes in a tube and is 1 part (so not a structural filler of any sort), apply with a wet finger or card, dries in about 20 min and sands very easy with wet and dry. Not for big gaps but for great for seams and such
