Hello Duncan,
thank you very much for your reply. I will try the Glasgow university website to find some more about the boat. I didn't limit the search on English ships, most of the time I didn't consider the country and serched by the names in general.
The Speybank was one of 18 ships of the Inverbank class. The Inverbank class vessels were built 1924 and 1926 and served for the Robert Weir Shipping & Trading CO. LTD (Bank Line). I have found a little bit about them here:

I don't know if it's Speybank or Doggerbank on the pic.
Speybank was captured in 1941 by the German Raider Atlantis and became a German blockade runner under the name Doggerbank. The boat was torpedoed by the German U 43 in 1943 with only one man surviving. I have read the book about the Doggerbank's story (The sinking of Doggerbank by Hans Herlin), that's how the interest in a model of it came.
Do you have special archives in Britain which offer to send plans of old vessels?
We have some here in Germany, most of them are not really cheap but a few of them offer acceptable prices. But unluckily nothing of the Doggerbank
Kind regards
Matt
