Question Hull design

This is gonna be a really dumb question for someone who's been into boats for so long, but I cant find the answer in a picture form so here goes

Can anyone show me in a picture for the difference between different hulls? Deep V, planeing etc.

And where roughly the centre of gravity should be.

Cheers Steve
