I'm looking to build another sub over the winter but I'm wanting a static diver - I already have a Robbe Seawolf which is great fun even though it's a dynamic diver. I don't want to convert it into a static dive 'cos I'd really like something on the lines of a WW2 type with railings, guns, periscopes etc. I've seen a couple of models available but the problem is that they are too long - I only want something about a metre long - I'm afraid the ones I've seen are nearer the 2 metre mark which makes them a bit big for our club pond when it comes to turning the sub. Surely there's something about that will fit the bill. I'd appreciate any info available if anyone knows of a suitable kit (or even ready built) Thanks Guys.
You can fit a dive module into a Revell TypeVII U-Boat model hull. That has all the detail you are looking for within the size restraints and would then be a static diver.
I can't remember who makes the module but it you are interested I can find out for you. Have a look at my build thread on my version of this kit made into a surface runner. It does make for a superb model that really looks the part on the water and manoeuvers surprisingly well.

the engel lafayette sounds like it will fit your needs, a nice kit, go`s togethor nicely and a good size, it is erring on the expensive side, but a very comprehensive kit
