I've completed the ships boats and the winch for Vigilant, so got the boat out of the little workshop at the back of the garage to install them.
Got it on the dining table, normal workplace!!!
Had a look at the boat and EEEHHH!!!! the panalled sides of the Saloon had warped. I had varnished them both inside and outside before glueing to the deck, thought this would stop any tendency to warp. But the back of the garage is unheated and the weather has been pretty damp and miserable Result - warping.
Hope it will go back a bit if I bring the boat indoors, but the "boss" says it's a bit big.
I'll finish the boat, but my hearrt won't be in it.

Already thinking of the next build!!!!

Ken, that's abeautifull boat and a hell of a lot of time and money to give up on. I would cut my losses and remove the saloon if at all possible and make a new one. It is better than making a model that your heart will not be in and you will always be dissapointed with it.

Hopefully it will straighten itself out with a normal temperature but I suspect it is not very likely. Even properly treated wood will eventually succumb to the effects of moisture after a period of time especially if changes in temperature are involved.

I hope it works out for you but my thoughts would be to remove the damage and get yourself back on track with the model.
