Hi I'm a newcomer

Hi everyone,
My name's Alan but just call me Averof. I'm greek but I live in the south of France on the french Riviera. Sorry because my english might be a bit poor sometimes. My hobbies are War Greek war ships.
I've bought a 1/125 Linberg kit of the Blue Devil Fletcher class destroyer and made my own scratchbuild modifications to have it looking like the Velos wich is laying in Athen port as a flotting museum.
I've also made the Armatolos, witch was one of the two Flower class Corvette lended to Greece by the Royal Navy during Last WW. It is based on the Revell 1/72 Snowberry. I've made the ship for my Twelve year old son witch share my hobby. He's finishing his own 1/72 MTB RC.
I've also made a The Theodoros, a Greek armoured Cargo used by the US Navy during WW II. It's total schartchbuild using the Heller 1/150 Passat tall ship kit.
And i've just finished two days ago the Hades II, a ocean armoured tug, in service in the Hellenic Navy from 1958 to 1977.
All thoses ships are fully Radio controled and sail at the weekly local club meeting. Pictures avalable in this forum's gallery, in boats menu.
I've discoverd this Forum when looking for informations about the Vosper Pereska, whitch I will probably start in a few days.
If any member of the forum is willing to come to the french Riviera, i'll be please to meet him and envetually guide him around.

Welcome Averof,

Nice to see some different choices of Model Subjects too, I have just viewed the pics in your Gallery and those are very fine looking Models too. I am sure you have found plenty of info on the Perkasa on here so I hope that turns out well for you...seems to be a popular choice that one !!

As for French Riviera...I think I prefer the climes a bit further east to your part of the world....I love Greece and of course the Greek half of Cyprus.....suits me any day !!

Welcome to the forum Averof and many thanks for sharing your fleet with us. Nice unusual subjects and looking good on the water. Have a good look around the tutorials and see if there is anything of interest for you.

So was that an invitation to your place in the South of France? The wife is already packed!!

If you're fond of Nipon cars, I have one or two photos to send you, but just how do I get this done on this Chat? I have pictures on my Hard disk but can't manage to download them on the chat.

Hi Averof,

Welcome to the forum.

Do you have any interest in warships of the 1900-1920's period?

J.

Thanks for the Offer of the pics, you can always post them up in the pics section of the Cars part of this Forum so everyone can share them...I think you have figured how to post pics up now.

The 3 cars In my pic were all done by me as my nephew got into the Hobby so I had a perfect excuse to join him to race !! The Skyline and The Subaru are my nephew's cars and the White Honda NSX is mine.

Regards.......Mark.
