I started this one a couple years ago after Airfix released this kit. The truck is a Airfix Autocar and the trailer is a PST cargo trailer with a Vaule Gear load hope to get this project done soon enjoy the pics. Morning Pete.
The last time I remember seeing an Autocar was on the the " other house " we had a French guy who was doing one the scale that Paul in the States builds 1/87.
Looking fwd to seeing more, that Value Gear is well made, I've got a selection of their tarps, such crisp detail.
John.

I know you've only placed the parts for the pics Lee, but there seem to be some awfully big gaps! Is the kit really that bad?

This is beautiful compared to the 1/87 one. It's really rough.
Great job on the restoration Lee. What year is it? PaulE

Done a little more work tonight. I didn’t like the wheels and axle I put on here years ago so I replaced them with the new Airfix wheels from the fuel tanker. I also installed the windshield and test fit the wheels on the truck. Think I’m going to stop here let things dry and settle enjoy the pics5A348000-F394-4ABA-B064-5C532C5E882D.jpeg67F1059B-CC48-4556-B4B2-7B00DF9549BA.jpegB4BDDFA9-BFAE-4B25-9359-FA09225C0D49.jpeg1EC2931B-4141-47DC-BFD3-BA2137AA4FC9.jpeg41AD7E01-CABB-40CC-A7AF-BF5493153B4B.jpeg922CD027-4C7C-4825-A7ED-4D6D04B20F9F.jpegCC28AA2E-FB54-419F-A910-B92445747E2A.jpeg20081303-98FB-4FC2-88C8-D2443A13F2D0.jpeg96595D0F-C885-4749-BD3A-ECE68BBC80CF.jpeg8FFBB292-5137-4C56-BEC1-0601144AFBA5.jpeg

Coming along nicely. Nice big rig! What power plant did Autocar use in these?
Cheers Rick H.

Hi Lee
Looks to be coming together well - overcoming the kits shortcomings. The Value Gear stuff is good - not expensive and nicely made. Your "real thing" looks very impressive.

The cab and fenders don’t marry up very well but over all the Acar is a nice kit. Thanks for stopping by
