Hello all / C-47 Skytrain build

Hi all, my names Andrew, been into modelling on and off for most of me life, I'm not up to the amazing standard of all you guys on here!!!! I prefer WW2 era kits, but will do anything. I've been nosing around here for a while and thought it was time to post a bit of a blog of my latest project, the revell 1:48 scale C-47 Skytrain. Nice big kit, 60cm wingspan!!!! Here's a few pictures of progress on the interior so far, pretty straight forward, no probs yet!!

      Any comments/advice appreciated, Thanks

Hi andrew , welcome to the forum. Nice work so far, ill be watching this closely as its another great old monogram kit that i think ill end up buying at some stage, always fancied doing a 'spooky' in 1/48 but cant remember whether anyone (revell/monogram) did a kit of that variant. cheers tony

Here you go Tony. I think this is the one you want. It's their model number 85-5615.

Andy: Sorry to interrupt your thread! As you can see, I've got one of these so I'll be looking at your build with interest.

Hi all, the version I'm doing is the Revell Berlin Airlift. This will be finished in silver and is a freight passenger version. More photos soon, just gotta finish the inside!!!

Heres the next stage of my C-47 build, the interiors all done, and fitted into the fuselage.

For anyone thinking of doing this build, most of the interior detail in the compartments behind the cockpit, isn't even visible, so may be worth leaving!!!! I didn't realise til it was time to fit into the fuselage - doh!!!

Big problems, just found I'm missing a quite major piece!!!! I think it must have been missing from new, cos it's quite big!!! Gaz, can you check your kit to see if you've got piece number 50

      Cheers, Andrew
