      New to the site

      Hello All,

I've been dabbling in plastic models for as long as I can remember and my current "thing" is OO gauge model railways with a definite slant towards the 1972-1992 era in Scotland. I buy mostly RTR loco's and rolling stock and weather or modify them to as I fancy. Now and again I slip back to military modelling, for example, I am currently building a couple of the ex-JB Models Bedfords and Land Rovers to be loads on a military train I am building. I have also bought a couple of the B.W Models white metal Ferret armoured car kits and I am hlf way through the Bedford MK UBRE kit to go on the JB Models 4 tonners.

Weathering is my big interest right now and I have done two commissions so far and they couldn't be more different. I weathered a Heljan O gauge Hymek for a friend at the Andover Model railway Club with my new airbrush and then did a Fantasy Wargames type spaceship for another friend using some newly acquired MiG weathering pigments and washes.

Please take a look at some of my work on my blog; www.rickysrailway.blogspot.com

You can see photo's of the spaceship commision at www.daemonscape.com

      Ciao for now...

      Welcome to the forum Rick!!
I have to confess that already a time ago my father insist of the electric trains and he asked me for help to mount one. Buy him routes and locomotives, but we begin with a project so big that now occupies the hillock of the left study. We don't want to dismount because any day we will return to him, I'm sure!!

      Precious your railway diorama!!
      Regards

Ps: Allow me to ask, but I have heard the word Land Rover ...?
Only I know these two models of J B Models, it's more probably?

      Hi Polux,

Land Rover made a range of different vehicles for the British Armed Forces and the ex-J B Models kits are now part of the Airfix range. There is another manufacturer with an even broader range of L/R variants but these are white metal kits. Here's the link; B. W. MODELS | Home
