      hello from newbie

      Hi

Just joined - with a robbe u boat to make....

Will be surfing the available info and advice here and looking forward to the challenge of building this kit

I have been researching shop web sites - reviews etc which rate this kit as "intermediate". -

My first question = Am I taking too much on ?

I an a competent diy car/motorcycle mechanic having rebulit several cars - an MG from wreck to show winning standard and maintain classic motorcycles and have a basic understandinge of electrics and problem solving on cars /motorcycles. Interior trimming to acceptable quality - Also conversant with principles of painting having resprayed complete cars and repaired damaged classic cars - and have a workshop to build the model in.

Thanks for any replies to guide me

      regards

Hello and welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your stay here with us.
Sounds like you have a very interesting job there. I know someone who is rebuilding a aston martin db5 and he enjoys it. With answer to your question are you taking too much on? i dont think you are. Good luck in your challenge of the U boat it would be nice to see pictures of the progress.

I wouldn't say you've taken too much on but you have certainly taken a lot on. Having said that there is loads of information on this kit and many conversions to a static diver.

I can safely say the best example of which has been made by a gent who is a member here and who is always more than willing to offer advice and guidance to newcomers. There are some photo's of his model in my gallery (from before he joined) so have a good look and start to think of the questions.

      Over to you Subzero!!

thank you both for the reply and encouragement.

I expect to make astart in a few weeks time and don't intend to rush the job - so my next post will be if a problem or I have some pictures to record progress

      Thanks again

Yes don't rush it as it will ruin the model and you dont want that at all. Good luck in the making and if you have any problems don't be afriad to ask.
