Where's All The Propliner Geeks

Hi to all My name is Rich Kirkman I have signed up in the hope of finding other people with a 1/72 propliner fetish but it seems I am all alone in the scale modeling world ( sobs quitely) so just get back to me and let me know I am not alone.I am building propliners and other prop aircraft with civil regs on their flanks (dont do camo) only working ladies (rather than working girls!!!!!!!). My overall project is to build a 50/60's style airport dio to display and photograph my ladies in and hopefully attract visiting aircraft ( landing fee's reaonable). So far we (my partner Tracey does trucks, people & ground support gizmos) have a terminal building,a fire station,an apron support garage,2 hangars and a flying club house and overall the entire dio is gonna be 6ft x 12ft ish...(and before you ask yes we do have a very big shed). If you want to have a look at the concept check out Home - Welcome to Scale Model Perfection. Hopefully we will be able to post some piccies in gallery keeping you all up to date. Have a look and let us know what you think.........and we can possibly discuss the times when barbeques weren't strapped to the wings of aviation machinery.

Howdy Rich,

First allow me to welcome you to the forum, we always look forward to new members and the experiences and input they bring. I viewed your website and the Air France "Connie" photo looks great.
Personally i am open to building all types of aircraft, old and new but i just havent gotten around to any propliners. However, I do have a DC-6 on its way to my house in the next few days that i purchased of Ebay.
I have grown partial to the colorscheme of aircraft with the silver underside and white topside as you can see in my gallery in the Mu-2J Combat command aircraft and the Handley Page Jetstream models about 3/4 of the way down the first page.
I am not sure how i am going to do the DC-6 but I am sure it will be along those lines.
Enough about me lol, sorry i got carried away. I look forward to seeing your work in the gallery here in the near future. And please invite Tracy, your partner to join, the more the merrier!.

Anyway, welcome again to the forum and have a good day,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW)

Welcome Proplinergeek. I have a few though I only do 1/144th and as you could guess mostly Pan Am and for airliners I prefer a good barbeque
I struggle to find any good airport ground equipment and stuff.
I look forward to seeing your project develop.
