Smile Hello all

I'm more or less new here but a long time past new to modeling. I turned 84 last Sunday 15.6.08 and have been modeling since 1934. Started with gummy bands and moved to Baby Cyclone ignition in late '36. As a lad I flew at Rosecrans & Western Ave.'s in Southwest L.A. Nice place with nice folks such as Irwin Ohlsson, the Bunch Brothers. Bill Atwood, Hal Atkinson and some of the real pioneers. I was just a kid in the corner but they were kind to me. Flew free flight until the great unpleasantness.
Flew as a ballgunner on B-24's out of Italy. Shot down over Yugoslavia and Northern Italy at Verona. Got pretty tiresome so was sent home to discover U-contrtol and RC in early 70's.
A die hard WWI scaler with a DVII, Eindecker and currently 1/5 scale SE5a. Happy to be aboard

Nice to see another “early fliers” fan, especially one who’s building an SE5a!

Hope to see some photos of your build on here soon.

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure there will be lots to interest you here, especially as you are building an SE5a, you'll be in good company!

Any pictures of your model projects and your time in B-24's?

Alan
