Talking Another basement dweller joins the party!

Greetings to all.
I have come up out of the basement long enough to join this great looking forum! I was drawn in while looking for info on a recently accuired large scale Heller kit. I am sure you all know the one, 1000 parts! I mostly build 1/12 autos but am always interested in aircraft, boats and armour just to keep it fresh. Like what I have seen so far so I expect to spend more time posting here. Now all I need to do is get the computer in the basement right next to my build table!
Well got to go look around more,
cheers,
NITZ

Hi Nitz and a warm welcome. have a look at my motorcycles in the gallery, there are a couple of 1/12th ones there as well as one or two 1/6th scale. I went through a phase of a few years of doing nothing more than bikes but I seem to have moved into the model boat arena now and haven't done a bike for years.

Anyway have a look around and see what we have tucked away in the archives and enjoy your time here.

Hi , I live in Johannesburg South Africa and am an enthusiastic part time modeller. Not like in my school days when I built every Spitfire , Hurricane , Messerscmitt that ever flew ----Keilcraft etc etc At the moment I have about ten different projects on the go and move from one to the other as the mood takes me. I still work so don't have all that much spare time.I have been busy with a Tich steam loco for about 30 odd years , have three stand -off scale model aeroplane kits which I take out and look at every 3-4 months --- a" Pilot kit " Tiger moth , A Spitfire which I would like to sell as I doubt my abiluity to do justice to it and a Cirrus glider which I will eventually try and build .IN addittion I have a fully equipped woodworking workshop which is my first and best hobby. I am also starting to build some simple model steam engines for my grandson as well as some antique type model cars.Basically i just have fun
I also have a Myford Super seven and a little Unimat lathe for which I am looking for a 3 jaw chuck .
Anybody wanting to contact me can do so through my e-mail.regards,
harold-------harold@matus.co.za

Hi Harold and welcome to Scale Models. You sound a bit like me, you need to retire to get on with your models!!

An interesting spread of kits and a well stocked retirement fund there, send us some pictures when you get the chance.
