I'm afraid there is not a quick answer to your questions as they are so all encompassing but to start with I would suggest that you put weathering into the search facility here on the main page and read through all the posts that we have put up about it over the years.
To start with I would practise and learn about basic washes and dry brushing. Between the two you can emphasise shadows and highlights and make a dramatic improvement on any model. Master those and you are well on your way! Then you can progress to shading, paint chips, rust, dirt and grime and no end of other techniques but with simple washes and dry brushing you are making a major leap into weathering techniques.
