Hi everybody,

My name is Phil, I'm 47 and a construction site manager. I hail from Liverpool, though I spend most weekends in my beloved Wales, where I do a lot of walking. I collect and play with toy steam engines, so burnt fingers are pretty normal for me.

I've made model kits all of my life (off and on) but I must admit that I haven't made anything in a few years (life eh?). Unfortunately, and with the best of intentions, I've become something of a kit hoarder.

My main modelling interests have always been aircraft, and figures, and it's fair to say that I generally enjoy the painting and finishing work, rather than the actual construction.

I'm thinking of climbing back into the saddle, and so, I've been exploring this forum for inspiration. My thought is that a path less well trodden, from my point of view, might get the juices flowing, so boats, cars, tanks, sci fi etc.

Happily, I can see that there is masses of inspiration here, some really fantastic work on display.

Also, I've followed a few of the threads, and I'm pleased to see what a friendly, supportive group this is.
