| Finescale Modelers issue remains unreleased Howdy All,
The August 2006 Issue of Finescale Modeler Magazine had to be replaced this month with another issue due to printing problems at the publisher. One person at the publishers, who wished to remain anonymous stated that "The issue we were going to release caused multi millions of dollars worth of damage to the equipment once printing began". It seems as though all of the equipment "went haywire" once the "photo plates" were added to the printing process resulting in the equipments photographic mechanism being completely destroyed. The anonymous spokesman also stated that "we are looking into the problem possibly stemming from one of the photos, its long been known that some photographic subject are capable of destroying the equipment". Any and all tips or leads as to what might have been the cause of the damage is being sought. Please be sure to look over the photo to see if you may be able to solve this mystery as to why the equipment might have been damaged. have a good day, Greg ps I have the full size version if anyone would like a copy lol. *hint* John. |

| Well this looks like a classic case of 'Offset litho photo over-ride' where the photo plate creeps around the overlute roller spindle dragging the second image into view on the selected page.
In this case you can see the culprit or culprits,as there appears to be a conflict between Grommett and founding member of a well known internet forum, the chances of this happening are remote, and a quick check into the annals of printing history reveal that it last happened a long time ago to some machinery producing leaflets for an escaped prisoner who was running amok on Dartmoor got mixed up with posters for the Crufts dog show.
The likely cause is man versus dog when appearing together on similar plates, there have been various suggestions as to a fix for the problem, one being a plentiful supply of cheddar cheese which makes the person happy and smile too much leading to a totally unsuitable photograph for publication, and also to feed the canine friend when dangled on the end of a piece of string.
Low tech tricks for a complex high tech problem.

| Howdy Guys,
Well, I am glad ya'll found that humorous. I did this for extra cash from 2001 to 2005, making various friends and internet aquaintances the "TIME man of the year, or putting other people on the cover of their favorite magazines and/or in photos with their fav. celebrities.
I was browsing the gallery and came across those pics and for some reason, I thought "what the heck, all John can do is ban me" lol.
I also figured some of the "peanut gallery" like Barry or Nigel might chime in on this.
Anyway, if anyone out there would like a pic of themselves on the cover of a mag. or in a photo with their fav. celeb, let me know and I will be happy to do what I can to accomadate you. I can be emailed at ![[email address]](http://www.scale-models.co.uk/?emailimage=2943b6074a1e61081e2bc535729468ae) .
*and John, if you want the full 8.5" X 11" or something close to that size of this photo, email me at the above address and I will be happy to send it to you.
And I want Barry to know that I really enjoyed his "low tech" explaination lol. But watch out, all of you with pics are fair game lol....oops I mean "Muhahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa" < devious and maniacal laugh. Of course I would never do anything tasteless with anyones photos.
have a good day,
Greg |

| Howdy Barry,
Actually, I have done these type photos for people from Canada, the US, the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand....pretty much for people all over the world. I used to edit the photo or place the person in a photo with their favorite celebrity, or on their favorite magazine cover, and then I would set them up with a free website to show it off and post other pictures of themselves and or families. I would show them how to use the website and usually I would also pick up other work from them, usually repairing old yellowed and tattered family photos. I can even repair a torn photo and in some cases torn photos with parts missing. This is where the extra money would come into play, the simple "funny" edited pics didnt pay alot, but repair of family heirlooms is a money making business.
And this is not something that I had seen before, I knew that some photographers repaired photos, but an internet business that provided that service and edited pics was new to me, so I did it for a couple yrs like I said.
Have a good day,
Greg |
