| Colwyn Bay Model Boat Club sail every Sunday at the Model Boat Pond behind the Civic Centre, Eirias Park Colwyn Bay from Easter to Late November (Pond is drained for cleaning every winter) usually electric and sail boats only on this pond. A frequency board system is generally in use when the club members are there so please do check before sailing.
There are Race evenings during the week too, I believe on wednesday evenings.
I/C Engined boats are catered for on the much larger pond on the prom at Llanfairfechan just a few miles up the road off the main A55.
Dates of events, meets and fixtures are posted on the noticeboard on the side of the boating shed at the Colwyn Bay pond.
Non-Members are welcome at both ponds.
As for Llandudno Pond...forget it unless you want to be attacked by the local Swan population who have taken over this as their waters...and there are about 20 of them in permanent residence there now.

| For Flyers we have the Rhyl & District Model Flying Club who usually fly from a Farm Field along the Rhuddlan road from Abergele...it is opposite the Only Cattery along that road which is well signposted and it is usually easy to spot the flyers from the road.
As for Soarers/Glider guiders best site here has to be the top of the Orme at Llandudno, You have to go around the toll road to get to it but you are usually guaranteed a flight when you get there depending on the weight of your model...usually the heavier the better although this does vary on the odd occasion depending on windspeed....Lighter models may need a bit of ballast.... And you will be keeping the memory of one of our former regular flyers alive as his ashes are scattered over that slope (scattered from one of his own models) as per earlier post on here. Flying takes place most weekends and evenings as weather permits.
West Shore Beach at Llandudno at far left end is also an ideal flying spot for powered models when the tide is out...Flat sands etc for runways, There are sometimes soft sand spots although these harden up after a while at full low tide....and it does go out quite a way here. This area is also now popular with the extreme sports brigade (parafoil sand karts etc) so you may need to check before flying.

| In the Scottish Highlands : Small club, about 25 members, mainly r/c flying on own grass strip on Rothiemurchus Estate. (turn left after Coylumbridge Hotel onto Nethybridge road, look for windsock on left after 1.5 miles). Sailing on Loch Insh , waterplanes OK or Loch Morlich, boats only. Slope soaring heaven on Cairngorm Mountains. Insurance required all venues. Vistors welcome, phone Malcom 01479 810070 for details. Great views of Nato and RAF jets in this "low flying area". Some places you can look DOWN on them ! |

| I fly at the Delta Hawks Model Flying club. The closest village is Packington which is near to Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire.
Over the years I have been in the Leicester MFC, Loughborough MFC and I was a founder member of the Soar Valley Soarers.
