***You will be OK Guy,Sony are doing any essential servicing, also all camera repairers worth their salt do Minolta and have tons of spares,I used to have a sub miniature Minolta spy camera ( the type for taking pictures of documents etc ) what a quality piece of workmanship that was as well, wish now that I had kept it.

i have a stunning minolta film camera..... never had a problem with it.... lets hope i dont get a problem in the future ?????

Konica / Minolta are a quality Brand and I suspect Sony saw that too when they bought the company out...Sony doesn't snap up the rubbish stuff (pardon the pun)...So I would think the servicing and repairs for the Minolta & Konica cameras will be around for a while yet but with the Sony Name on there too.

Regards........Mark

i love sonys thinking, gradually get a hold of every bit of the market, but not in one single area so they cant get accused of holding a monopoly over anything!!!

As i see it this is far from bad news...

1) Kodicaminolta make great stuff and all their designs will be produced by Sony thus giving us minolta fuctions with sony quality!

2)Sonys backup is great so i dont mind that

for the record i have the entry level mintola DSLR and its great, i cant fault it at all!
