| Huge B-36 Bomber for sale. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...2%2B%26fvi%3D1
This famous model was built over 50 years ago,I remember seeing it in a model magazine at the time,it has 6 petrol engines and 4 pulsejets, although never flown the model was probably the first of the large model brigade subjects and as such is a piece of modelling history, would not even think about how many sheets of balsa went into this one ? just imagine starting all of those engines at once, the noise must have been something to witness.
I doubt whether it will realise its reserve, very few of this type of thing seem to,and it will certainly need a crate making to ship it.

| You really would want to fly it though wouldn't you? I couldn't be content with simply seeing it sat on the floor somewhere, I would want to get the adrenalin rush of seeing this with all 10 engines at full pulling off the tarmac!! |

| With a model like this I would fully service it first and check over the integrity of the airframe, then run up the engines on the ground with a team of helpers, then fly it once,if it crashed and proved a handful then it would be restored to static condition and loaned to a good museum.

| Too large for me RJ,no hangarage space for that monster, just think of the hours of building that must have gone into her ?

| You would have thought that someone in that 50 year history would have tried to fly it.
I smell fish.
Certainly a fantastic model though. |

| In reality not a very practical subject,to light up four relatively crude ramjets plus start those petrol engines all on tune would take some work.
And the noise would be heard for miles! and yes there would be a fire hazard.

| Only a few hours to go and still not reached its reserve ? the huge B-36 Bomber. It currently stands at $6,100 equates to aprox £3,269 and it still has not yet reached its reserve, only four hours to go,I dont think that it will sell ? the engines and ramjets alone plus spares must be worth quite a bit.
