| Thanks John,
I was encouraged by the results so may well have another go. I really believe that figures make a dramatic differrence to a model and bring it to life so much, especially R/C models.
My model customs cutter was actually 1/12th scale but had no one in the wheelhouse so actually looked a bit odd on the water. I had to cut the thing apart but it now has a modified resin dolls house figure in it and it looks a completely differrent boat. |

| These notes on figure painting are most useful,I am halfway through painting those Airfix figures that come with the air force vehicle sets which I use for photographing my dioramas.
Richard your nautical figures look fine to me,very rustic and realistic,is the one on a lean suffering from too much rum ration !
Squiffy your notes on painting eyes are excellent,I tried this on paper using watercolour paints as a practise.

| The crystals Cap'n, the crystals, they cannae take it!!
Many years ago on a cargo ship the Captain called down the Engine Room to ask why we weren't going fast enough to be told by the Third Engineer the exact line above.
To this the Captain said "Do you know who you are talking to young man?". "No sir" replied the Third. "This is the Captain speaking", responded the Old Man, slightly tersely.
"Do you know who you are talking to?", retorted the Third Engineer. "No" said the Captain.
"Thank god for that" |
