Box from the mid sixties, realise aprox £22 a box,can only go up in value, its only your decision either paint up and enjoy,or leave in the box and put them in a cupboard ? personally I think models are to build and enjoy.

I think you got 12 figures in the box + 12 horses and 12 bases 36 pieces altogether

my box contains, 10 horses, 6 bases, 11 figures and by the looks of it 9 pieces missing...which would make 36! so pogo is right on that part.

the box is not in that good condition as you can see and with that many pieces missing i dont think the value would be no way near as much as £22. i think i will have to ask my dad if i can make them, he is in the states for a week so il have to wait.

i agree with you barry, models are made to be made. not stay in a box.

aslo i might add, the plastic is very soft, as in if you hold on end of the spru it bends down with the weight of the pieces on it. is this because of its age the plastic has softened of because they did not have that strong a plastic in those days.

(as you can see in the picture i can bend the spru without it snapping and it goes back to almost its original shape on its own!

i remember my dad talking about his Johnny 7 gun?? (correct me if im wrong there) and it was one of the first plastic toys?

RJW,they were made from soft (Airfix made plastic buckets as well with the same plastic ) it had a high release mould grease content,so get out the tea strainer and fill up the sink with soapy water and swish them about before you paint them.Rinse and dry.
