try and not use gloss paints for things like this. use matt colours!!

for that kind of colour you could use tamiyas af-50 field blue. i know its too late now but just a tip. take a look at my german africa corps in the gallery under "other" then my username

for a brilliant flesh colour use tamiyas xf-15 flat flesh! (again see my figures) yes fair enough paint the boots gloss as they would have been. it all dependson weather you want them to look dirty or not!

perhaps try and had "scuffed" look by dry brushing a bit of matt black on the toe-caps!

just an idea!

very nice paint job though!

Taylor, for a first attempt at figures they look excellent. It takes a steady hand to pick out detail like that.

As Richard says matt would look better so I would give yours a coat of clear matt varnish before going any further. This will look much more realistic. Even the black leather will look matt on a scale of this size so an all over coat will improve the look dramatically.

Keep it thin so that you do not hide any of the detail and it will look as though they were painted matt in the first place.
