Wallace and Gromit: Anti-Pesto

Hi All,

I am fairly new to modelling - I got the W&G aeroplane and sidecar a while back and recently purchased the Anti-Pesto van.

I know the main body comes in the colour it is, therefore you don't NEED to paint it, but I think it may look better painted.

Can anyone recommend a Humbrol Paint No for the the main body of the car please?

Many thanks in advance. I hope I posted this in the correct place.

Hi Alien,

Firstly a very warm welcome to the forum. I hope that you enjoy your time here and get as much out of it as we all do.

As for the Anti-Pesto van this is obviously one of those occasions where there is no real correct colour. Even the colour you see on the screen will depend to a certain degree on the projection equipment used to display the movie. The original plastic colour is only one manufacturers interpretation of what the original was so there is a certain degree of leeway with this.

If there are no colour variations in the plastic and it is a perfect overall tone I would suggest that you give it a spray with a gloss or satin varnish to give it the finish you are after. If there are variations in the plastic colout then I would mix up a paint to match the original kit plastic and spray that on.

If you are going to weather it, as the example I saw in February was, then you can get away with quite a lot anyway.
