Pak40 cardmodel

Hello guys!
Time to start a new model!
I will build the Pak40 7,5cm cannon that will go into the diorama with the Kübel and the Greif.

So here it goes....
The book was a pleasant surprise

It contains very good instructions in 3d drawings

And the parts are printed very very nice, not weathered but nice anyway.

I also got the lasercuts.....4 pages od parts

So in pure exitement over this kit I had to take it with me at work yesterday and start the build
I started with the wheels....and here I got shocked....each wheel contains more than 90 parts!!

The letters on the sides are separately cutted from 0,2mm paper, and was a bit challenging.
I will post the full building process of the wheels later!!

Yes it's a lot of parts...I'm not sure of the total amount for this kit....but I guess it's huge.

Some further progress on the wheel....the wheel is mostly finished, just some minor touchups and painting of the rear side.

Here comes the construction report of one of the wheels on the Pak.

First it's a shot of all the parts involved on this wheel. And the drawing of the parts involved.

I start to put together the two rings that will be the outside of the wheel. After they are glued together I put on the paperstrip. And with this repeated once I have the two sides ready to be painted on the inside..

The two rings have gotten the smaller one glued to make the spacing in the wheel. The centerpart is made of two rings and a paperstrip.

The three parts are ready to be joined.

The parts are glued together and it's become something like a wheel.

The centerpart of the wheel is made of three parts.

The spokes.

Each spoke is made of 5 parts. 4 parts makes the inner frame and the skin is put on the outside.

The frameparts are glued together.

The skin is bent over a 1,5mm rod to make the correct shape.

And put together

The center is made of a paperstrip rolled against a 4mm drill.

And glued in the center of the wheel.

All eight spokes in place

The lock of the wheel to the axel is made of 5 parts.Where the lock is made of a 0,5mm copperwire.

Now it's time to put things together. The lock is glued into place on top in the centerpart. The letters on the side are in place. And the nuts are next out to make the wheel complete.

The inner skin is painted black on the outide rims.

The backside and the finished wheels.

Next will be brakes....

Those letters on the tyre walls look superb. An unbeleivable amount of work going into this project.

The brake system contains 45 parts all in all for one wheel....

I'm starting with the centerpart that contains 11 parts.
First the drawing.

So the main structure with the two circles and the paperstrip. The top pieces are glued to 0,5mm karton.

And when it's mounted it looks like this.

The lever contains 6 parts.
Drawing

The cylinder contains 13 parts.
Drawing.

Parts to be used and the finished part.

Transfer arm
