You should be able to buy some etched brass camouflage net or use gauze dressings from a first aid kit if it's bundled up, stowed on a vehicle. Brass etch is pricey tho.

Howdy RJ,

Here about a year ago, i posted a drawing of how to make "canvas" from womens nylons for use on scale armor models.
Below is the illustration i posted in my gallery:

Anyway, back when I devised this method in the 90's, I also used the same material for camo netting. Being that the material is elastic, you can cut small strips and "poke" them thru the fabric to achieve "camo netting" .
The main bulk of the material can be airbrushed or spray painted prior to the insertion of the strips, likewise, the strips should be painted prior to being cut into strips and insertion in the main body of the fabric.
I am sorry i dont have any examples prepared to show you, but I think you can kind of picture what i am talking about in your mind.
The good thing about this material is that it is and remains elastic even after painting and can be 'stretched" between anchor points on a model. The bad thing about this material is your friends or wife finding out you have been playing with your wifes or girl friends panty hose lol.

Anyway i hope this helps and if you have any further questions on hosw to achieve the effect you want, let me know and i will help as best I can.

Have a good day,

Greg

i have found something that might work.

a car polishing cloth. its stretches out and is inter-woven. it might just do the trick!

i will post some pictures up tomorrow if it does.

I guess it depends which era, which countrys and what scale camoflage netting you want to reproduce. If it's the modern plastic stuff, I would imagine that it will be incredibly hard to recreate accurately at any scale.

I have just realised i have been no help whatsoever!!

Hi

Here's a brief diy guide to making camo netting form tankmodels.co.uk forum

"its a piece of pee and this was how i do it for my club members and also for shop stock.
you need:
medical gauze
spray paint olive drab or sand colours
spray pva glue
mixed herbs
cut down the gauze to the size you require,
place it flat on a surface and spray the coulour you desire on both sides
use scenic spray pva glue on one side and spinkle mixed hurbs onto the gauze
then let it dry or while damp drape it over your tank or anywhere else it is desired"

About to try this myself. Looks good advice hope it helps someone.

regards
