Largest model made.

Just found this picture of one of the largest models that I have made,it is a 1 to 1 home design called the Clay Cherub, thats my son sitting in the cockpit enjoying himself, the aeroplane was fitted with a moped engine that taxied it around, great fun.
We displayed her once at a garden fete and pushed her along the road to the school, attracted a lot of interest.
The aeroplane/model was vandalised when she was put on display in a museum and was a write off,a great pity.
Not a very good picture but it gives an idea of what it looked like.

Nice effort. What is it with vandals? Sad b*****ds. How about the wooden mock-up of the proposed Hercules replacement that was on show at Farnborough(?) a couple of years ago. Biggest model boat is in a museum in New England (Mystic Seaport I think). It is a sailing schooner at half size. However the cruise liner of Francois Zanella must be the ultimate, but is it a model ? Link: http:/perso.wanadoo.fr.bernard.joannes/bateau.htm

1) Because it isn't theirs and they don't want anyone else to have it.

2) Because they don't have the skill or patience required to do something themselves, and are to lazy to learn.

*** Spot on US,it appears that if you own something that they do not have then they just destroy it.
That large model/airplane took thousands of hours to design and build up but it was trashed within minutes, they kicked it to pieces and nothing was salvagable.
I would have gladly taught them a few skills but would they have responded, doubtful ? we live in a strange society.

yup its lego alright, took 13 people 3 months to construct, you can go inside sit in real boeing seats and the 'windscreen' image is provided by 2 plasma screens, so you get a view like a simulator.....

*** Amazing co-incidence,they showed it on television the other evening at Legoland, they make some complex models to stand outside, they showed the model builders sticking the bits together with syringes filled with ethyl methyl keytone, sometimes they use internal supports in the interests of safety for the public, wonder how many blocks in that one ?
