Pontiac GTO Finished

Well the goat is finally finished and it looks OK it was not quite built out of box as I didn't do the box colour interior I did my own, so I hope U all like wot U see. The gauges on the dash are actually aircraft ones but seen to as they are small and ca't be seen all that well I decide to glue them in position rather than paint the gauges in.

Beaiful model, well done! . But in the first photo, it says the car is moving at 275knots at an altitude of 24,000 ft. j/j .
Seriously, it is a beatifully done model that looks like you could actually get into it and drive it off. You should buy you one of those "round" ornamental wood plaques and stain it a deep walnut color with a high gloss fishish to display it on. If you could make the base spin lol, it would look like a "showroom model from a dealership".
But personally I could see this winning a model competition. You might want to give entering it into one a thought.

Thanks guys for the praise, Greg this car is now in storage to keep it dust free for a model show at the end of the year here in Adelaide well 2 model comps actually & Richard that's exactly wot my wife said when I showed her the finished model her words and I quote "Pity it's not real and pity you can't build a real car like that we'd be driving it every day" so I guess when I put my mind to it I can build quality models.

There is no doubt that Pontac's GTO was to me THE nuts as far as Muscle-cars went, and sadly the closest I got to owning the real thing was when I bought an engine from a '66 Goat to fit into my 73 Formula 455 Firebird. This engine was the legendary 428 cubic inch. She had an Arma-steel crank, forged rods and pistons, and big-valve heads and three two-jet carbs....sadly both car and engines have all gone now and I model in small engines of the railway kind but I did look on with fondness at your model Goat.

What made the GTO the stuff of legends?...it was the first of the true muscle cars. Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Plymouth, Rambler and even Oldsmobile made them 'go', but for sheer 'grunt' off the line...nothing went like a Pontiac!

Hey Jules, U are probably right but I heard back then the fastest thing on 4 wheels was the 427 Cobra, I heard it could get to 100 mp/h come a to stop and could get going again bafore any lambo, ferrari or Meserati could even reach 100 but then U know wot legends and talk are made of pure rumours and crap but on this I sure hope not, fr me it's my next plastic car and a great one at that. Greg U got good eyes I never even thought that when Iput tose gauges in anyone would be abe to read them Oh well never mind they're there for the looks hey.
