Question Which Airbrush to choose?

Hi
Firstly I'm new to model forums so if I'm doing something wrong please let me know.
Although I have been painting figures for a few years I have only used a very basic airbrush. I now have the offer, from my dear wife ( I know I,ll pay twiceover in the long run ) to buy me a decent airbrush kit.
So can anyone advice me on what airbrush kit to buy and possibly where to find it.
My profile re the airbrush kit are.
I am a beginner
I would like a quiet compressor with a resoviour.
Double action would seem the way to go.
I'm not sure if its easier to buy a kit or items individually, a kit would appear the easier.
Although cost matters I would rather pay for a decent kit and hopfully grow skill wise into it.
The airbrush would be used for Military models and eventually figures.
so can anyone help?

Hello and welcome!
Always great to start meeting new folks here. IWATA! This company rocks. My first airbrush was a Pachee double action .It was a piece of junk and I needed to call them directly for a replacment air valve trigger within 2 months. I now use the Iwata eclipse HP-BS and have never looked back. Parts are avaible at my LHS or everywhere online. Another amazing this about this is that I use their Pistol Grip moisture filter which connects directly to the base of the brush. This has totally eliminated water spattering even in 100% humidity. I also use the Iwata Sprint Jet compressor with no issues. Always go for a double-you can use it for air only which will make your drying time increase 10 fold. Hope this helps, Jeff

Hi Jeff
Thanks for the helpful tips, I had heard thet IWATA were one of the best kits around.
Seeing your location made me smile as I will be visiting Schumberg Ill on Thursday 25th September to go to an Old Vintage toy soldier show(I'm also a collector) at Woodfield, are there any good model shops around this area.

Oh yes, Venture Hobbies in Wheeling is only about 20 minutes drive. Also, there is is art store named DickBlick and is located on route 72. They carry Iwata as well. Woodfield is not form us at all.
